Dr Marie-Louise Duthie qualified from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2002 with awards in Restorative Dentistry. She has since carried on her postgraduate career, passing her MJDF diploma in 2010 and becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Marie-Louise was trained in ceramic reconstruction in 2007 and has a special interest in tooth whitening procedures. She is qualified in providing IV sedation for anxious patients and recently acquired accreditation as an Invisalign clear brace practitioner.

In 2008 Marie-Louise embarked upon facial aesthetics training at the Royal Society of Medicine and The Royal College of Physicians. She is a member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics. In 2012 she was accepted onto the Postgraduate Masters course in Non-Surgical Facial Aesthetics at the University of Central Lancashire. She passed her diploma in 2013 with a distinction and is now embarking on a research degree in this area. In 2011 Marie-Louise was approached to teach at Liverpool Dental Hospital. She specialised in teaching emergency dental care to the dental students in the initial treatment clinic at LUDH.

Marie-Louise was elected to the post of Honorary Secretary of Liverpool LDC by Liverpool dentists in 2009. She represents 240 dentists and has recently been re-elected to this position and will hold it until 2016. Marie-Louise sat on the Quality Health Council for Liverpool and currently sits on the Primary Care Strategic group for NHS Merseyside. She was also part of the North-West Strategic Health Authority special advisors meeting into NHS Quality Assurance and Contract Management.

Marie-Louise joined the practice in 2003 and became an expense sharing partner in 2005. She bought out Mr Wyatt and Mr Duthie in 2015 and is now the sole owner and clinical director of the practice.
